Luongo again.........83 seems super low compared to who? luongo doesnt deserve to be any higher then an 84, and i'll put him at that, but that's the highest. his numbers were nothing near Thomas' numbers, and that's the highest rated goalie in the league.

Im not sure how you can compare Thomas to Luongo over their careers....How can you base ratings on 1 or 2 seasons?

Im not sure how you can compare Thomas to Luongo over their careers....How can you base ratings on 1 or 2 seasons? thats what they did for every player, which is why i stated that the rerates messed up the balance of the league. of course they need to be based on last years nhl results but then they should also be based on that players performance over the last 3 seasons say. for example Booth 81 ov should he be rated in the same catagory as Koivu or Selanne or Gomez. these are all veteran playes who have scored consistently in their careers. you could knock on Koivu due to his injuries, but Selanee is a superstar, and gomez has multiple 50+ assists season and 3 70+pts seasons. im not saying booth is not a good player, but after putting up one 60 point season, does he deserve to be on par with these guys already? re rate need to be done in 3 steps: 1: rerate based on last seasons preduction and results 2: rerate based on last 3-5 seasons performance the 2 will yield different results for different players 3: use these 2 results to establish a middle ground for the final new ratting. a younger player might loose some points in this case, while an older player might even out his ratting. this helps to distinguish one bad season throughout a great career, or the flash in the pan one hit wonders. sorry if i had to write it like this, but this is my opinion.

Personally i tend to agree with what Tampa is saying. Ratings should obviously be based on the previous years production, but also the player's recent yearly productions should be a deciding factor.
This would make re-rates in the years to come more simple, instead of doing a league wide re rate system again nxt year. A player should be allowed to grow gradually in rating, and not have tremendous increases and decreases based on year to year production.
This allows for a more stable system, as well as gives veterans the benefit of the doubt, meaning if they have consistently put up 65 + pts in the last 3-4 years and then drop off to 45 pts due to injury or other factors, they drop in ratings yes, but not significantly enough to be jumped over by an up and coming player who gets 50 pts in 1 year.

Im not sure how you can compare Thomas to Luongo over their careers....How can you base ratings on 1 or 2 seasons? it's an NHL re-rate league, where we base on PREVIOUS YEAR (ONLY) performance. you don't go 2-3 years into what a players ratings will look like for the season coming up - it's based on the prior season.

well, if you want me to re-structure my formal, i can, but not for this season, it won't take effect until i start doing re-rates for offseason
i'm putting a POLL up in the League News board
i would like for ALL GM's to vote on this matter, since it seems to have caused a bit of a messy situation, and we do not want any of that here in the SINHL.
Poll is up now, GO VOTE! thanks!

Dipietro...Guys been hurt the last 2 seasons..but rated an 80? Please... suck my dick, hes been hurt the last 2 seasons. he played 63 games in the 07-08 season thats more then a full season for a goalie, but yes he was hurt last year, hence the 25 durability rating, hes still and 80 ov goalie beacuse thjats his skill level, at least. the durability reflects his injury last year, now fuck right off mr. my goalies craig anderson.

Right now..I'd take Craig Anderson over Rick Dipietro any day... lol You wouldn't take a goaltender on the rise..who was playing excellent on a shitty Panthers team but you'd take a goaltender who's coming off a serious knee injury? Gtfo noob.
