there is a bunch from last year, and there will be a bunch from this year. This is still in the air but I believe we will be leaving undrafted players out of the draft and until they are created in the sim and then let them be free agents to make the UFA period bigger.

the prospects claims was turned off. Like I said its looking like they will have to be made by the program first (play in the NHL) and then they will be in the thick of Free Agency to make it bigger and better.

i don't understand all this... why isn't there like an extra round everyone gets a pick in the same draft rank order as previous rounds, and we make it the exact same numbers of picks as real nhl. If we do the whole free agency thing its gona be a lot of work for some ppl involved, it seems easier, and better, to just add a round no?

i will clarify this tomorrow, but it is an open period. i should of announced this sooner, but that's the next waive. and i believe it's going to go based on waiver claims. but remember, a bunch of those names were signed last year while mike was in charge. some of those names you mentioned are already on teams prospect lists

I was meaning to make a poll to ask GM's if they wanted another round, I figure you all do though, am I right? 1 round were still not up to par on all the draftees, 2 rounds is too many picks.

who ever goes undrafted that WAS drafted in the NHL will be deemed signable and placed on the unassigned list, we will distribute the names in waiver priority.
remember two things - this will not happen till sometime in august, and i need to set up a def. rule for this, so as i work on the rule book more today, i'll add it.
the rule book should be completed soon, sooner then later i hope!

why not just let anybody offer contracts to anybody not signed and no longer eligible for the draft at any point in the season?

I really don't like the first come first serve basis and I was one of the people to use it on the regular basis. It is a pretty basic way to handle undrafted free agents.

a list will be generated once im done sorting out the rest of the UFA's as some personal shit has come up over the past few days.
we will then be using the waiver rule to sign players - not 1st come 1st serve

why not just let anybody offer contracts to anybody not signed and no longer eligible for the draft at any point in the season? i agree. i have done some homework finding guys who i am aloud to sign technically, and i feel that if you do the work, then you deserve to sign them.

I personally think they should be free agents we bid on, not waiver wire or claims.
